A/AU - Autumn/Winter Campaign

Loud, vibrant patterns seem to be a staple in the A/Au campaigns and the Autumn/Winter collection is by no means an exception. Asiyami Gold, one of my favorite lifestyle bloggers and instagrammers, is also the designer of her own line A/Au (periodic symbol for gold, isn't she smart :)  )  Her collection is stylish, tasteful and unique. She incorporates an array of earthy visuals in her campaigns as well as African prints that bring out the wild side of any fashion forward woman. Her mixture of loud prints and neutral tones also serve as eye catchers for her clothing. I really adore this collection and as a result decided to share it on my blog. So, Here you go ...

Makai Antigua

Living on an island has its many perks. Beaches, great weather, and even better selections for swim-wear. I've been following Makai Antigua on instagram for a little over a year now, and their wander-filled, beach loving feed is perfect for promoting their brand. Located at #46 Heritage Quay, St. Johns, Antigua, the store offers a lot more than just 'cheeky bikinis' and cover-ups... it truly is a haven and sanctuary for all those who love the beach. Makai is actually Hawaiian meaning "towards the ocean", and i truly believe in the philosophy behind that name. Being an island girl, i am constantly drifting 'towards the ocean' and have a deep rooted love of the sea.

The store sells a wide and unique variety of swim-wear and is a must visit for both tourists and locals alike. You can always guarantee that you'll find a lovely swimsuit that fits your style and makes you look and feel great. They sell quality swim-wear, so you know that you are getting your money's worth when you make a purchase. You can even mix and match tops and bottoms to fit your quirky style. Also, being beach oriented, the store's photos not only focus on the product but the island as well making them a real market engine for Antiguan tourism, as well as showing off the gorgeous beaches and their travels.

Check out Makai Antigua, a boutique featuring swim-wear, cover-ups, jewelry and more for those who belong near the ocean. #46 Heritage Quay, St. Johns, Antigua (268)562-8392

Kinks are Pink!

There are many different fashion blogs on the internet and with the advent of the natural hair movement, there are many blogs about natural hair. However, few blogs are able to strike the perfect balance between both of these topics. Ashlei, the brain behind Kinks are the new Pink in my view has an excellent balance. She's not only a major figure in type 4 hair education, but she's also somewhat of a style guru for many persons who read her blog. I really love her blog as i learn new ways to care for my hair as well as cool ways to mis and match patterns and styles for outfits. She's always experimenting with different methods of doing things and she's not selfish in sharing her methods with her following. So, in honour of Ashlei's exceptional style, here are a few of her outfits that i absolutely loved >>>>

Jane Sews: Summer Capsule

the south african-based label jane sews has just released their new summer capsule collection, and as expected, it’s a good one! designer amy venter has introduced a beautiful new set of classic dresses and separates in a clean black and cream palette with the cutest little sandals and handbags to go with them. the palm print is fun and playful without being overdone, just the type of thing i would love to wear on that imaginary resort vacation i’ve got planned in my head. everything is constructed in crisp cotton, breezy rayon, and luxurious silk blends right in their durban studio, at an incredibly affordable price point. if you haven’t taken the time to check out this brand, then today is the day!  - Calivintage

The best thing about living in the Caribbean is that i get to shop for summer clothing all year round. So when i came across the JANE SEWS SUMMER CAPSULE, i just knew that these were things that i could see myself wearing. The 'flowy' dresses and loose flair bottoms are just perfect, and the prints scream my name. I'm a devout fan of dresses, and if you like them as much as i do, i can assure you that this collection is one you should check out.

The collection is both comfortable and stylish and is appealing for the everyday person to sport around. The collection incorporates very simple and bright colors that just shout summer. The tasteful design of the clothing attracted me to the collection to begin with. The Collection also has an afro-centric fell to it and i really loved the designs. The Shoot was well executed and the model was rightly selected. If you are ever looking for something new and refreshing i highly suggest Jane Sews.

Rihanna

The Queen of Controversy is what i like to call her. Rihanna is a daring fashion icon who continuously pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable in fashion and makes it her own. From her nipple freeing LUI Magazine cover to her barely there netted dress, Rihanna's Style has been keeping us all on our toes.

Her style is distinct and unique to her. She pulls of effortlessly looks that a normal woman can't. For this reason, Rihanna is in my mind a major contributor and pioneer of style in today's fashion world.
